Taekwondo Kicks in Choi Yong
In Taekwondo Choi Yong is the last third degree pattern that you learn. It has forty-six movements, so the second largest number of movements out of all the third degree patterns. Choi Yong, I personally believe, is an excellent pattern that allows each student to show off their Taekwondo kicks. This is because their a number of kicks, including at times three kicks in a row – the Taekwondo kicks used in this instance are a middle turning kick followed by a high reverse hooking kick and then a middle side piercing kick. So a whole range of different muscles are required for this. It is also a sequence performed using both the right and left feet – so it really does the student to be equally expert in using both of their legs and both of their feet to perform Taekwondo Kicks. I love performing this pattern and equally I love seeing it performed just to see how good the kicks are.
