Without Hope wins Honorable Mention in short film category. “Judging standards are high at the Accolade Film Festival, winning means the craft and creativity exhibited by your film is outstanding and stands above other productions”, Thomas Baker, Ph. D. Competition Chairperson.What really excited me about winning in this film festival, is the fact that is was up against films from not just the United States, but from all other the world. Wish You Were There!

The 2nd showing of Without Hope at the Joy Performance Center in Kings Mountain was a huge success! There were over 100 people there and Jim Champion, who has been running the theater for many years, said this night was one of the most successful nights he had seen in a long time. Right after the showing we had Q & A, and from the response, people were really engaged in the movie. Some of the men from the Kings Mountain mine were there to see the film and they were amazed at how I captured the mine on film. Many DVD’s were sold, including “On My Last Breath”, which received high marks in the Charlotte Film Festival. I premiered the trailer for “On My Last Breath” before showing “Without Hope” and from the sales of the DVD following the movie, it must of worked. Not only did people buy “Without Hope”, but they wanted “On My Last Breath” as well.
Due to the success of this showing, we are talking about showing “Without Hope” again first of next year. Stay tuned for more information on that.

Great news! If you missed the World Wide Premier of Without Hope, you are getting a second chance! Mark your calendars now for the 2nd showing of Without Hope. November 7th, Wednesday at 7:30 in Kings Mountain at the Kings Mountain Theater. We are so excited to show the film the way it should be shown, in a theater! Without Hope Premier

Thank-you everyone for coming out for the world wide premier of Without Hope. From the applause and comments the cast and I received immediatly following, it was a huge success! The biggest question on everybody’s mind was, “when can I get my own copy of this great film?” My decision was this, the special features are not complete and I wanted to provide both the movie and special features at the same time. We are wanting to have the complete DVD for sale on the 15th of October.
Also, check back often for the 2nd and 3rd showing of Without Hope. We have been offered two theaters to show the flim the way it should have been seen. In a theater! More about that as I get the details. I’m planning on having them both in October.

World Wide Premier of Without Hope

You don’t want to miss this exciting upcoming event! Come out and support your local Charlotte Film Makers by seeing the world wide premier of Without Hope! Cast members and crew will be there to sign autographs and you can get your picture taken with them.
Posters and Dvd’s will be given away so get there early.
Time is September 29th Saturday at Ed’s Tavern from 6-9 PM. Movie starts at 7:30!

Old Fashioned Movie Making

I’ve been a movie buff all my life and there is nothing like coming out of a theater after seeing a good movie and feeling like you could do anything! That is what I want to achieve as a film maker. I want you the audience to forget about your life for a few minutes and remember back to when you had passion and fire for whatever it was or is you wanted to accomplish in your life.
Without Hope is the age old theme of “you never realize what you have until it’s gone”. As many times as this theme has been played over and over again, we as a society still forget that the simple things in life are what really matter. Set against a futuristic backdrop where technology connects everyone in an instant, the character is stripped of everything and forced to confront the demons that he has buried.
It’s a great movie that can be enjoyed on many levels. I hope to see you all there.
