Rick Alexander as Major Charles Benson

Rick AlexanderRick Alexander grew up in the garden city of New Jersey. His first acting experience was in drama class at Pascack Valley High School, “I don’t remember much about the play, but I do remember the experience was great”. Little did he know, but the enjoyment he experienced would stay with him and lead him to pursue a career in acting.

After moving to Charlotte, North Carolina for his senior year in high school, he was given a full scholarship to play baseball at the University of North Carolina. “those were some of the best years of my life”

He was noticed by some talents scouts during his time at the University of North Carolina and was recruited to play professionally. Traveling throughout the United States and Canada were rich experiences filled with culture and diversity.

The exposure to different people and places, would later reward him with confidence and people skills that would propel him into the next phase of his life.

When the open call went out for the George Clooney film “Leatherheads” Rick was right there wanting to get into the action. The casting director immediately saw him and put him into a role that would showcase him more than just an extra. She noticed his athletic ability and rugged looks that would stand out on camera.

That same look Don Johns noticed and asked if he would be interested in playing the role of Major Ray Benson in Without Hope. He agreed and as they say, the rest is history.

Not only did Rick star in his first major role, he co-produced and wrote some of the screenplay along with Michael Montero and Don Johns “His life experiences, brought a realistic dialogue to the script that made it more dramatic and true to life”, says Don.

He also helped me tremendously in finding and securing locations for the film. I don’t know
what I would have done without all the help he gave in getting this film produced”. (Hence the title of producer in the film)

A bright and promising future in the movie business is looking very good for Rick Alexander. After you see his performance in Without Hope, you will agree.
